Compared to a year ago, in January, the flow of customers at the Kroger-operated supermarket fell sharply, but started to increase.
According to data from Placer.ai, a pedestrian traffic analysis company, Kroger, the country’s largest traditional supermarket chain based in Cincinnati, saw a 5.3% drop in customer traffic in January. Kruger runs a chip shop in Arizona.
According to a study by Placer.ai, Kroger’s visits also decreased in the first week of February, with a decline of 1.3%. However, these visits increased by 0.3% in the second week of February.
A Placer.ai executive said the recovery could mean Kroger is expected to see positive growth in 2021.
