Arizona drivers can now renew registration at Walmart stores

Your next trip to a nearby Walmart site could land you a new vehicle registration.

This is because the checkout chain has partnered with the Arizona Department of Transportation automotive division to distribute vehicle registration information in its stores.

The partnership was previously announced by ADOT on Monday, and Arizona residents can choose to pay the final registration fee in cash or at a discount at any Walmart location in the state of Grand Canyon.

“We are committed to providing customers with favorable options to complete MVD work,” MVD Supervisor Eric Jorgensen said in the press release. “To update vehicle registration for the trip to Wal-Mart and other supermarkets and convenience stores, this is another example of a pledge to get Arizonans out of their cars and get on the road safely.”

Under this release, customers can purchase their records in Wal-Mart Currency Center and update their information directly in the MVD system at checkout.

The statement said that anyone using Walmart’s services would receive their new renewal card in the mail.

Arizona residents can still update their registration online through the MVD website or an authorized overseas office in the state.
